Stories out of the rear house —
Anne Frank was not alone
This play is a non-historic realisation of
the world famous diary.
It is a story about the daily life in the intermediate world. A story that goes from peeling potatoes and cleaning to love and dance to hope without boundaries in a moment of staggering fear. Harald Otto Schmid and Dietland Budde already
staged this extraordinary play in our
AlarmTheater in 1997. Today, 20 years later,
the audience can see Joana and Mohammed:
A girl, which is familiar with the original story
and the historic circumstances and a boy,
who first-hand experienced the life of the
intermediate world as a refugee.
Like in the first staging, we can see:
Two people, who suppress and reminisce,
who flirt, laugh, dance and argue.
The tragedy of the story is mixed with the ease and fascination of the different ways of life. The story creates an atmosphere of beauty and intensity. That is why the audience receives an insight in lives of humans, who live in an inhumane time.Actors and actresses:Mohammad Osman and Joana Damberg
